Tasting Terraverne Oliznaga Coupage
Oliznaga is a blend of three complementary varieties: Hojiblanca brings herbaceous freshness, Picual structure and Arbequina sweetness. The result has notes of green almond, fruit and tomato leaf, with bitterness and pepperiness that are present without being aggressive.
It is an oil almost everyone likes, perfect for dressing a salad, dipping bread or finishing a dish of roast vegetables.
Terraverne’s everyday oil
Terraverne makes Oliznaga in Teba, in northern Málaga, from olives picked in November, somewhat riper than those of its early-harvest range. This gives a rounded extra virgin designed for everyday cooking.
The half-litre bottle is the most practical for the household cruet or a bar table.
How to enjoy Terraverne Oliznaga Coupage
- Toast and breakfasts.
- Salads and dressings.
- Roast vegetables.
- Grilled fish.
- Gentle stews.
Raw is where its almond and tomato-leaf notes show best, but it also holds up well in everyday cooking, from a quick stir-fry to a slow-cooked stew. In Málaga it is the kind of oil that goes on a breakfast mollete with tomato, into a pipirrana salad at lunch and over grilled sardines in the evening, without ever feeling out of place. Its mildness also makes it a good choice for children and for anyone gradually moving from refined oils to extra virgin, as it adds flavour without overwhelming familiar dishes.
Terraverne Oliznaga Coupage: the 500 ml bottle

Half a litre is used daily and finished before the oil loses freshness. It is the ideal bottle for trying Oliznaga before moving to the litre, the 2.5 L tin or the multi-bottle boxes.
It keeps best tightly closed, in a cool place protected from light.
