Tasting Oro de Bailén Picual

On tasting, the first impression is the sweetness of a soft jelly, soon giving way to the fruitiness of the oil. The Picual version recalls tomato and green grass; the Arbequina is more delicate, with notes of apple and almond.

Its smooth texture, halfway between a jam and a spread, makes it very easy to pair with both savoury and sweet flavours.

Oro Bailén, from the Galgón family

Oro Bailén is the brand of Galgón 99, a family company in Bailén (Jaén) that since 2005 has made, bottled and sold extra virgin olive oil from the olives of its own groves, on the slopes of Sierra Morena. It works with ISO 9000 quality certification.

Its oils rank every year among the most awarded in Spain, with distinctions at NYIOOC, Mario Solinas, Olive Japan and Jaén Selección, and the Evooleum guide named it the best olive oil in the world in the 2019/2020 season.
