Baeturia Black Garlic is an olive oil flavoured with black garlic, made in Zafra, in Badajoz. Black garlic is ordinary garlic matured slowly under controlled heat and humidity until it turns black, soft and sweet, with a taste reminiscent of liquorice and none of the harsh smell of raw garlic.

Baeturia combines it with its extra virgin olive oil, and the result is a condiment with character: a green oil on the nose over a balsamic backdrop, and on the palate a slide towards the toasted sweetness of the garlic. A 250 ml bottle to lift an ordinary dish, drop by drop, at the table.

An oil from Extremadura

Baeturia takes its name from the ancient region the Romans placed in the south of today's province of Badajoz, a land of dehesas, holm oaks and old olive groves. From there the house makes extra virgin olive oils from varieties typical of Extremadura, such as Morisca, Carrasqueña or Manzanilla Cacereña.

Its oil is extracted cold, at 22 ºC, on the same day the olives are picked, to keep the freshness of the fruit in the bottle. On that base Baeturia Black Garlic is born.

What Baeturia Black Garlic goes with

  • Grilled meats and roast chicken.
  • Mushrooms, risottos and pasta.
  • Sautéed vegetables.
  • Toast with fresh cheese.
  • Pumpkin soup or chicken canapés, with a final drizzle.

The 250 ml bottle of Baeturia Black Garlic

Baeturia Black Garlic, flavoured olive oil, 250 ml

This is an oil for finishing dishes, not for frying: its aroma shines when added raw, at the last moment, over food already served. A few drops or a thin thread are enough, because it concentrates a lot of flavour, which is why the 250 ml bottle lasts.

Once opened, close the bottle after every use and keep it somewhere cool, away from light and heat, so that Baeturia Black Garlic keeps its aromas for longer.
