Baeturia Spicy, flavoured olive oil 250 ml

Baeturia Spicy is a Morisca olive oil flavoured with smoked Pimentón de la Vera, a Protected Designation of Origin paprika, and a touch of cayenne. It smells of smoked wood with spicy notes and leaves a medium heat on the palate, with slightly sweet smoky flavours. 250 ml bottle.

Baeturia Spicy brings the smoke of La Vera to an Extremaduran oil. The house in Zafra takes its Morisca olive oil and flavours it with smoked Pimentón de la Vera, a Protected Designation of Origin paprika, and a touch of cayenne. The result is a warm-coloured oil made to finish dishes with character.

On the nose it recalls smoked wood with spicy notes; on the palate it leaves a medium heat dominated by slightly sweet smoky flavours. A few drops are enough to change the course of a recipe.

Baeturia, oil from Extremadura

Baeturia takes its name from the ancient region the Romans placed in the south of today’s province of Badajoz, a land of dehesa pastures, holm oaks and old olive groves. From Zafra, the house makes olive oils from Extremadura’s own varieties, such as Morisca, Carrasqueña and Manzanilla Cacereña.

The oil is cold-extracted at 22 ºC on the same day the olives are picked. With Baeturia Spicy, that Morisca base meets smoked Pimentón de la Vera and cayenne.

Where Baeturia Spicy shines

  • A Spanish omelette or fried eggs, with a few drops at serving.
  • Galician-style octopus and roast potatoes.
  • A pizza fresh from the oven.
  • Hummus and pulse purées.
  • Meat marinades and grilled skewers.

A 250 ml bottle for the table

Baeturia Spicy, flavoured olive oil 250 ml

Baeturia Spicy is a finishing oil, not a frying oil: its aroma shines when added raw, at the last moment, over food already on the plate. A few drops or a fine drizzle are enough, as it carries a lot of flavour, and 250 ml goes a long way at the table.

Once opened, close the bottle tightly after each use and keep it in a cool place away from light so that it keeps its aromas for longer.
